In case of sickness, injury, accident or death while travelling, our emergency assistance team at Allianz Global Assistance are multi-lingual and can help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Travel assistance

Cover for pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses (incl. travel expenses to return home) if you have to shorten your trip or cancel your trip before you leave home, due to an unexpected, serious illness or injury requiring hospitalisation. Repatriation costs in case of serious medical issues are also covered.

Personal liability

In case you negligently cause any physical injury or property damage to a third party, we cover your legal liability and related defence costs.

You and anyone to be covered:

  • You are domiciled in Belgium and live here at least 9 months/year
  • You have not yet started your trip
  • Your trips are not longer than 90 or 180 days (subject to plan choice)
  • High risk activities are not covered (eg. jet skiing, diving, etc.)
  • Trips in Belgium are covered if at least one night accommodation is booked before the start of the trip
  • You don’t already have a reason to make a claim
  • You were never denied a kidnaping insurance in the past (to be eligible for the disaster response coverage)

Simple, flexible, essential travel insurance

  • What are the main exclusions ?
    • If you have any health condition which started before the start of your insurance, it is not covered until a period of one year has passed during which you have not required any treatment.
    • Any health condition which was the subject of a claim under an earlier trip.
    • Any circumstance which could have been foreseen as likely for you to make a claim at the start of the policy or when the trip was booked (whichever is the later).
    • Any medical complications resulting from a pregnancy or childbirth if you are, or would have been, pregnant for seven months or longer at any point during a trip.
    • Your deliberate exposure to exceptional danger (except in an attempt to save human life).
    • High-risk activities (eg. jet-skiing, bungee jumping, quad biking, rock climbing, etc.).
    • Trips to destinations where the Belgian government has advised against travel.
    • Legal expenses related to lawsuits against travel agents or your family.
